Sashiko Workshop

Our local quilt guild, the Citrus Belt Quilters, recently hosted Nancy Ota, an amazing quilter/designer/teacher.  One of Nancy’s talents is in the art of Japanese Sashiko.  My friends and I were fortunate to participate in her workshop. Since I am of Japanese descent, it was all the more interesting.  Now I really want to make a Sashiko quilt! Or a jacket, or a purse… 🙂 I posed in front of Nancy’s beautiful work, and my friend Terrie is holding up a kimono from her trunk show that I purchased for dear daughter to use as a robe 🙂
