NDISB, Parisian Daydreams & QP Freebie

I was recently invited to join the Creative Team (CT) over at Natural Designs In Scrapbooking (NDISB). My first designer I got to work with was Tricia of Tricia Curtis Designs.  Tricia has a wonderfully unique style, and I chose to “play” with her “Parisian Daydreams” Kit. Tricia has a fondness for everything French, and I (very long ago) lived and worked in Paris.  Here is Parisian Daydreams:

Here is the first layout I made:

And here is the QP freebie for you to download:

Stop by in a couple of days for the second QP freebie.

Zentangle Challenge #44 “Tangled On The Inside”

This week, the Diva challenged us to draw one tangle and tangle on the inside of the one tangle.  I started with “Zenplosion Folds” by Daniele Obrien, and went from there:

Drawing Lab 2011: Student’s Choice #11

For this weeks student’s choice, I decided to do the Scribble Drawing:

If you can’t tell, it’s a silver wolf.

Bird A Week Challenge: Week 44

Here is a lampwork bead pendant I made. A tiny crow dangling above a pumpkin.  Are you in the mood for Halloween yet?:

Bird A Week Challenge: Week 43

I am in total Halloween mode.  Here is another bird on a pumpkin.  This time, a crow:

Drawing Lab 2011: Lettering

This weeks assignment was to draw disguised alphabets.  For some reason, I had some difficulty doing this:

If you can’t tell, it spells out the word “PEACE”, and it is garden themed.

My Lampwork Beads

Well, I had a chance to get on the torch again, and here are some of my efforts: Pretty white roses, wild animal beads, and cute pink rosette beads. You can find them at my Etsy shop:

Zentangle Challenge #43 “Sunflower”

This week’s challenge is “Sunflower”.  It comes from Penny B. who writes ” In Republic of South Africa, on 12 October we have Bandana Day, which is run by the Sunflower Fund. This is an organization founded in 1999 in support of the SA Bone Marrow Registry for people suffering from leukemia. Every year our local retailer (Pick n Pay) sells Sunflower bandanas and the proceeds go towards the Sunflower Fund…everyone wears a Bandana, somehow somewhere on this day! …” And as sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers, this was a fun challenge to do:

Thank you Penny B. for suggesting this challenge!

Vintage Beads From Europe Update

I recently received  four wonderful packs of vintage plastic beads from Vente of Vintage Beads from Europe.  Well, I finally sat down and had a chance to play with them.  Here are some things I made with them; a pretty brown tone bracelet, gorgeous drop earrings, funky purple earrings, and even a retro orange/yellow necklace for my Blythe doll Hana:
Be sure to stop by Vente’s store and have a look!

Drawing Lab 2011: Student’s Choice #10

I decided to do an insect again this week.  I drew a Monarch Butterfly.  We live in their path of migration.  It’s an amazing thing to see these beautiful butterflies:

Bird A Week Challenge: Week 42

For this week’s challenge, I drew a vintage style owl on a  pumpkin:

Zentangle Challenge #42 “Hope”

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  WIth this in mind, the Diva has challenged us to do a tangle themed “Hope”.  Hope is a wonderful word.  I did a simple tangle.  A heart awash in rays of light, surrounded by hope & love for you and me:
